(Washington, DC) – House Science, Space, and Technology Committee Ranking Member Frank Lucas announced the subcommittee assignments for new Committee Members Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) and Rep. Jenniffer González-Colón (R-PR).
Rep. Herrera Beutler has been named to the Subcommittee on Research and Technology.
“I’m pleased to welcome Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler to the Subcommittee on Research and Technology,” Lucas said. “This subcommittee oversees all matters relating to scientific research, including partnerships with academia and industry to drive technological innovation. The Subcommittee on Research & Technology also oversees all STEM education initiatives and I know Jaime is looking forward to increasing diversity in STEM jobs and enhancing our high-tech workforce. I’m looking forward to working with her on these critical issues.”
Rep. Jenniffer González-Colón has been named to the Subcommittee on Environment.
“I’m pleased to welcome Rep. Jenniffer González-Colón to the Subcommittee on Environment,” Lucas said. “This subcommittee oversees all environmental research, environmental standards, and all activities related to weather, climate, and oceanic research. On this subcommittee, Jenniffer will have the opportunity to do even more detailed work on these important issues for her constituents in Puerto Rico. I’m looking forward to her contributions.”
