Washington, D.C. – Science, Space, and Technology Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) today released the following statement after President Obama announced a climate deal with China.
Chairman Smith: “President Obama negotiated a deal to tie our economy’s hands while driving up energy costs for hardworking American families. I fail to see how this agreement benefits the United States. China has not promised to do anything other than increase its own energy production at unprecedented rates. Why would the president boast about an agreement where the American people come up with the short end of the stick?"
